St. Patricks Academy
St. Patrick’s Academy, Mohali, is a unit of the Society of the Brothers of St. Patrick (U.P. Society No. 1). The congregation was founded by Bishop Daniel Delany in Ireland in 1808 under the patronage of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
Today, the Patrician Brothers run schools, colleges, boarding houses, technical institutes, non-formal education centres and other educational institutions in Ireland, The United States of America, India, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, and Ghana. The Patrician Brothers came to Chennai, India, in 1875. There are 25 Patrician institutions in India today, with St. Patrick’s Academy, Mohali, being the most recent. Our closest sister institutions are St. George’s College, Mussoorie; St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun; St. Mary’s Academy, Meerut; and Mount St. Mary’s, New Delhi.
